Communiy Supported Agriculture - CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a mutually beneficial relationship between consumers (Members) and farmers.

Individuals pe-purchase a “crop share” of the farmer's harvest at the beginning of the season and, in exchange, CSA members receive a weekly share of freshly picked, nutritious vegetables throughout the harvest season.

Community supported agriculture nourishes eaters with healthful, delicious produce; provides a livelihood for farmers; preserves the land; and enriches our bodies and souls.

Join Dragonfly Hollow CSA Today

2012 will be the pilot year for our CSA. The project has been under consideration for quite some time and we're excited to finally have it available for everyone to enjoy! Since this is a new endeavor and we want to make sure the operation runs as smoothly as possible, we will be offering a limited number of spots.

When you purchase a share in our summer harvest C.S.A., a box of at least 6-10 different varieties of seasonal produce will be grown, picked, packed and reserved for you each week, starting the end of June through mid October ( 17 weeks). The size of the shares will vary each week depending on what is in season.

We offer 2 sizes of shares:

A full share fills a half bushel and feeds an average family of four; while a half share fills a quarter bushel and feeds an average couple. However, it really depends on your eating habits. Vegetarian couples may find a full share more suitable. Some folks split a full or half share with friends and enjoy that best.

Your share can be picked up at a host drop site on Wednesdays from 4-7 or a home delivery can be arranged for an additional charge of $30 for the season. As a member you will receive a weekly e- newsletter with recipes, cooking tips, and farm news and events.
